If you obtain 16 customers per week (800 per year) in an area of approximately 20,000 households. That’s 4% or just 4 households in every 100 approached.

The average household has two mattresses cleaned at £35 per single or £39 per double, plus duvets at £9 each; pillows can be charged for or done free as good PR.

Remember we are not a franchise and the prices charged are your choice, the above is a guide only and reflect prices advertised by other companies in the UK:

Call it approximately £92 per household serviced. The above work will take you once competent with the equipment approximately two hours or £46 per hourly rate. (Consider there is also the lounge suite, the carpet, rugs, etc.)

Of the 800 regular customers, 45% will request a 2nd clean during the next 12 month period. Remember there are still mattresses to be cleaned at Hotels, Motels, Boarding Schools, Hostels, Age Care Establishments and other places where mattresses are used by a succession of people. You are not limited to the domestic market alone.

Recommendation
The Healthy Sleep Group strongly recommends you try any equipment before buying be sure the system is capable of doing what your customers will expect. Also does the company you are looking to buy from share out its sales leads at no additional cost? Do all the members share information on marketing, strategy; even work sharing as the healthy sleep group members do? Does the company stock all the consumables so you can buy them in small quantities to reduce your costs?

Cheaper Competitors
Some companies sell cheaper systems claiming that their machine has a greater wattage than the companies who use the Kirby Motor, this is factually correct. However counting the wattage is not the only way to judge a system. The design is more important and the Kirby systems have over many years proved they are the leader in extraction and equally importantly reliability. Our system offers a dirt meter that can instantly show your potential customer how much dust has been removed from a sample test on the mattress; this will be one of your strongest selling points. The price some companies offer is very attractive we could not pay for half of our machine at cost for that figure, but in an industry that relies on removing the maximum amount of excrement from the mattress the best machine is essential. Also it can be very beneficial to be part of an organisation that shares leads and sells the best supplies at low prices.
